It is hard to believe that it has been nearly three years since I founded ENG TREPRENEUR, a platform dedicated to empowering engineering entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers.
In many ways, ENG TREPRENEUR was inspired by a part of me that has always existed. I’ve been entrepreneurial from a young age. Growing up as an Igbo woman from Anambra State, I often joked that my entrepreneurial spirit was simply part of my heritage. Entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and creating opportunities seemed to be woven into the fabric of my upbringing.
Even while studying Civil Engineering at university, I was running a side business as a makeup artist. Whilst my peers knew me as an engineering student, I was equally passionate about building something of my own, serving clients, and learning the realities of running a business.
Over time, I realised that engineering and entrepreneurship are not opposites—they are powerful complements. Engineers are natural problem-solvers, innovators, builders, and systems thinkers. It is no surprise that some of the world’s most successful business leaders, including figures such as Jeff Bezos, have engineering or technical backgrounds that helped shape the way they think about solving problems at scale.
What started as an idea has grown into a thriving platform with initiatives that I’m incredibly proud of, including:
📚 The A–Z of STEM: Innovation Edition children’s book-https://amzn.eu/d/0hWSecjZ
🤖 The AI Book of Prompts eBook, available across multiple platforms including Barnes & Noble | Apple Books | Rakuten Kobo | Everand | Tolino | Odilo | Vivlio | BorrowBox | Smashwords | Gardners | Fable
🌍 STEM outreach programmes that have enabled us to engage and inspire students online and around the world
🕵️♀️ STEM Mystery Mission – an interactive STEM game designed to make learning engaging and accessible-https://engtrepreneurgames.com/stem-mystery-missions
🎤 Free professional development training, including Leadership for Engineers: Communicating Vision and Leading Teams- https://www.engtrepreneur.net/usage
💡 The Meet the Innovator series, showcasing inspiring innovators and entrepreneurs
📈 The monthly State of Innovation reports, highlighting developments across engineering, technology, and innovation-https://www.engtrepreneur.net/post/state-of-innovation-january-from-ideas-to-impact-in-2026
Looking back, it has been an exciting journey filled with learning, experimentation, challenges, and growth. More importantly, it has reinforced my belief that engineers have the potential not only to design the future but also to build the organisations, technologies, and movements that shape it.
As we approach our third anniversary, I am excited about what comes next and grateful to everyone who has supported ENG TREPRENEUR along the way.
Here’s to continuing to inspire innovation, entrepreneurship, and impact within the engineering community and beyond.
